There were photos of an elongated version of the flagship model of the French brand. On the market a new modification will be released next year.
The world premiere of the Peugeot 508 second generation celebrated at the Geneva motor show in March this year. The model was transferred to the platform EMP2 (the predecessor is built on the “cart” PF3), with the change of generations “five hundred eight” turned from a sedan into a liftback with frameless side doors. The novelty has already entered the “old world” market, and next year it will get to China, and “their” version differs from the European one (there is almost no difference between the former Chinese and European versions). Pictures and characteristics of the Chinese Peugeot 508 second generation appeared in the base of the Ministry of industry of China.
The Chinese will offer a ” stretched “version of the model, it received the name of the prefix in the form of the Litera, the length of the” celestial ” Peugeot 508 is 4870 mm – it is 120 mm more than the European liftback, and 40 mm more than the sedan of the first generation. The wheelbase of the Chinese “five hundred eighth” – 2848 mm, which is 55 mm more than the” old-world ” new model (+31 mm compared to the first sedan). The width of the Peugeot 508L is 1855 mm, height-1455 mm (in the European liftback – 1859 and 1403 mm, respectively, in the sedan – 1828 and 1456 mm).
The front part of the Chinese version is the same as the” European”, but the other feed: the rear lights have changed the” filling”, the emblem of the brand was moved above – under it adorns the inscription Peugeot. In addition, the model intended for China, according to preliminary data, was deprived of frameless doors. It is also possible that in China 508-th again turned into a sedan, however, the photo does not see it. Note, such metamorphoses for China are not uncommon: for example, Skoda Rapid is sold there in a four-door body.
Peugeot 508L will be available with petrol” turbochetverkami ” 1.6 and 1.8 power 167 and 211 HP respectively. It is assumed that both engines are paired with an eight-speed “automatic”. For the European liftback Peugeot 508 provided petrol 1.6 PureTech (180 or 225 HP), a new generation diesel 1.5 BlueHDi (130 HP) and the familiar diesel 2.0 BlueHDi (160 or 180 HP). “Old-world” versions of all motors combined with 8АКП, the 1.5 diesel is still entitled to a six-speed “mechanics”.
